Kedda again

I called Carl (also known as Phil or Kedda) to let him know about my blog and, also, about Linn's and Ida's blogs. In the event that he takes a look at my blog, I am posting some more photos from his youth.

Before Phil (Kedda) left to go live with Dad in Susanville he helped his two brothers in lots of dramatic play. Here we look out from a "tee-pee" that he showed us how to build.

Kedda at Philbrick Ranch

I talked with Carl today about this blog. I decided it might be good to post something in his past that he might remember. This photo was taken in the front yard of our cabin on the Philbrick Ranch. Carl (Phil or Kedda--as I called him) was always in charge and he kept his two brothers busy with projects. One I well remember is when I was convinced to climb up to the top of a redwood tree while Kedda and Pin (otherwise known as Linn) chopped it down, letting me have an exciting ride as the tree fell and bounced several times on its branches.

Family Camp

When we lived in Lakeport we went to the Unitarian Universalist Family Camp in the Mendocino redwoods. Cheney loved going there and was especially happy to have her friend, Ariana, join us for a few days each summer. The children have endless interesting things to do. There are crafts, tie-dying, marshmellow roasting, and many activities to keep every one busy. The food is always great and the opportunities to make new friends are many.
